GLORIOUS GLORBERS!
We know it has been far too long since the last update. As you might have guessed—we have been crazy busy on all fronts, but managed to create a little update for you.
🔄 1) Quick updates
📦 Shipping update
- On track: we are on track to ship out all units in October.
- Delays: Chinese “Golden Week” (Oct 1–7) may briefly disrupt production plans, and shipping has hit a hurdle making delivery windows ~6–8 weeks per batch instead of ~4–6 weeks.
- Batches: units ship in batches as we need to fill full containers to send to two distribution centers (USA + EU). From there, units will be repackaged and sent out to you.
- Production rate: currently about ~500 units/week. We are trying to ramp to ~1000 units/week and will update you.
- Arrival dates: we’ll share more specific dates for batches/regions as we progress.
- Before Christmas: some of you will likely get GLORBs before Christmas, but we cannot guarantee this.
- Tracking numbers: we’ll provide tracking numbers once your order has shipped.
🧪 Beta testing is going great
We had a successful first round of beta testers using GLORB and got great feedback. Much of the criticism was about the app (which we are hustling hard to develop), some connection issues we are working on fixing, and some inconsistencies with packaging that we’re also fixing. Overall the feedback about hardware has been very positive.
🔒 We are certified
We have been certified according to CE, FCC, REACH, RoHS and UL standards by an external testing facility.
🏭 Jana joins Alex at the factory
Jana has gone to help Alex structure all improvements needed on the hardware and production side.
🎥 Pre-production units sent out
We have started sending out units to testers, reviewers and content creators, so expect more GLORB content on social media soon.
🛠️ Final improvements
- Diffusion: improved; final check coming up next week.
- Parts in the same crisp white plastic: corrected slight differences in nuance across plastic parts (hook, table stand, cord screw, etc.).
- Stand / ceiling cup now has feet: added rubber feet for a better stand experience; production is underway.
✨ Sneak peek — beta testing at events
Hannes and Viktor tested GLORBs at multiple events in Stockholm, including a large jewelry and watch expo. It was a fruitful test and the first time we saw so many GLORBs all together.
🚨 2) BackerKit update
Cards are charged and there are only 20 cards that are having issues. If you are one of them please email hello@glorb.me and we will try to figure out an alternative solution.
Remember that you will still be able to update your shipping address for 1 week before shipping starts. We will send a reminder out before shipping starts for you to update any shipping addresses.
As always, you are the best. Sorry for another sloppy update, but rest assured we are working hard on prioritized tasks. We will try to give a better and more juicy update in a couple weeks — but don’t hate us if we don’t find the time.
