DEAR GLORBIANS!

While we are happy that all 4 batches are on the move to their respective redistribution centers and international backer orders sent directly from the factory, we are unfortunately seeing signals of delays. This update aims to give you the same info as we have going forward. We will do another update when we have more concrete information.

1) Delays and long shipping times

We are checking the same tracking sites as published in this update for each batch. It is unfortunately out of our hands to do anything about speeding this up. Once the batches arrive in their respective ports it is also very hard to say how long it will take for it to get transported to our distribution center and for the individual orders to be repackaged and sent with tracking numbers to all of your registered emails.

Why is shipping taking time?

Beyond shipping delays that are out of our control, we are a young company, less than a year old, learning logistics, setting up import/export businesses, and building distribution centers after our unexpectedly successful Kickstarter. Instead of taking a full year to ship (which some campaigns do), we chose to deliver quickly and learn fast to create more products sooner.

The main delay is that we don’t yet have stock in our distribution centers. We produce GLORBs as fast as the factory can produce them, fill containers in China, ship them to Hamburg or LA, and then truck them to our distribution centers in Utah and Czech Republic for individual orders to be repackaged and sent together with tracking numbers to registered mail addresses. Established companies have stock ready for quick shipping, but as a crowdfunded project, this process takes time, is more complex and makes us vulnerable for delays throughout the whole process.

The positive side is that this process keeps shipping costs low and helps us build a sustainable shipping model for the future of GLORB and our future product launches here on Kickstarter. We hate to ask you for more patience than you have already shown us, but we thank you for your understanding as we work hard to get your GLORBs to you as quickly as possible.

2) 📦 Batch 1 - Somewhat late

The original plan was to get this batch in your hands in week 50 (Dec 9–15). Best case for first major distribution deliveries in Europe is after December 16. Once the container is offloaded in Hamburg it is hard to say how long it will take for it to get transported to our distribution center in Czech Republic and for the individual orders to be repackaged and sent together with tracking numbers to registered mail addresses.

Track the container: CMA-CGM Tracking (tracking number TEMU0624717)

(It arrived in Hamburg on the 7th of December.)

3) 📦 Batch 2 - Very late

This batch is facing delays of 3–4 weeks. Our original plan was to have the batch at our distribution center in the Czech Republic by December 10th, in time to get your GLORBs delivered before Christmas. Unfortunately, due to unexpected shipping delays, we now estimate your GLORBs will arrive early to mid-January. Once the container reaches our distribution center, it will be unpacked, repackaged into individual orders, and sent directly to you with a personal tracking number.

4) 📦 Batch 3 - Discharged at port

The batch/container reached and was discharged at the port in Long Beach, LA, on the 9th of December. The current ETA at the distribution center in Salt Lake City, Utah, is the 15th December. This may change due to port strikes creating backlogs and congestion for cargo to get out of the port.

Track the container: OOCL Tracking (Container # WNGU2452001)

5) 📦 Batch 4 - Discharged at port

The batch/container reached and was discharged at the port in Long Beach, LA, on the 10th of December. The current ETA at the distribution center in Salt Lake City, Utah, is the 13th December. This may change due to port strikes creating backlogs and congestion for cargo to get out of the port.

6) 🌏 International orders

All international orders are sent directly from the factory (not from a redistribution center and not in containers). We have tracking numbers and will send them to individual backers as soon as we can. Right now it is a long list of addresses and we just need to connect them to a person and send to each email.

❤️ We appreciate your patience

We know these delays are disappointing, and we truly appreciate your patience. Your support means everything to us and we’re working hard to make it up to you with a product that brings a little magic to your everyday life.

We are very serious about growing our company with a community-first principle — we will listen to your feedback, requests and ideas and try our very best to stay connected. This goes for GLORB but also our upcoming products (one will be revealed soon!) — we will give you sneak peeks, ask for your opinions and treat you as an extended part of the team to the best of our abilities.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns — we are here for you!

Best wishes,
The GLORB Team
